PE Structural Engineer – Mechanical & Industrial Systems
Are you a pragmatic, schedule-focused Professional Engineer who thrives working alongside fabrication and field crews? A premier regional contractor is hiring a licensed Structural Engineer to drive safe, code-compliant, and constructible design solutions for complex mechanical, piping, and equipment support systems.
Key Responsibilities

Engineer and seal calculations/details for modular skids, equipment frames, and packaged utility systems.

Design robust pipe support structures accounting for thermal, gravity, lateral, and dynamic forces.

Perform wind load analyses and engineer seismic/wind restraint systems for MEP equipment, ductwork, and outdoor assemblies.

Review delegated design submittals, shop drawings, and vendor packages for structural integrity.

Maintain full compliance with relevant codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, SMACNA, MSS).

Partner directly with shop fabricators, superintendents, and project leads to resolve field challenges quickly.

Standardize design details to improve constructability, shorten timelines, and minimize project risk.
Qualifications

7+ years of structural engineering experience, focusing on industrial, MEP, or pipe support infrastructure.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration.

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.

Strong proficiency in IBC, ASCE 7, and structural design tools.

Clear communication skills with a track record of thriving in fast-paced construction environments.

Preferred: Prior experience in design-build, contractor-led, or heavy MEP fabrication environments.

Location: South Metro Atlanta (Hybrid option: up to 2 days per week remote after initial onboarding).
