Data Center Infrastructure Systems Administrator (DCIM – Sunbird)
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Infrastructure Systems Administrator to support and enhance a DCIM platform (Sunbird) within a large enterprise environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate data center asset, power, and connectivity information while helping drive improvements in infrastructure visibility, capacity planning, and operational efficiency.
This individual will play a key role in supporting data center operations, including rack-level power, space, and cabling management, while partnering with internal teams and vendors to ensure optimal system performance and availability. The role also involves evaluating infrastructure changes, improving documentation, and supporting ongoing enhancements to tools and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and optimize DCIM (Sunbird) systems, including asset tracking and reporting
Support data center operations related to power, space, and connectivity
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure capacity and availability
Develop and improve processes, documentation, and reporting metrics
Assist with vendor coordination and issue resolution
Contribute to system enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
8+ years of hands-on data center experience (power, cabling, rack infrastructure)
Experience administering DCIM tools (preferably Sunbird dcTrack / PowerIQ)
Knowledge of network cabling standards (CAT6, fiber) and rack-mounted systems
Understanding of electrical distribution and capacity planning
Experience with data accuracy, asset lifecycle tracking, and documentation
Familiarity with tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, or similar
Nice to Have:
Experience with ServiceNow or ITIL processes
Exposure to enterprise hardware (Cisco, Dell, HPE)
Knowledge of cooling systems and data center best practices
Basic API, SQL, or SNMP knowledge
Details:
Long-term contract opportunity based in the Atlanta area (Tucker). Onsite role with flexible scheduling and strong potential for extension.
