Operations Research Scientist
High-impact opportunity for an innovative Operations Research Scientist to create advanced optimization, machine learning, and decision-support tools that boost network performance, streamline operations, and cut costs. You will solve complex freight mobility and supply chain challenges using operations research, reinforcement learning, and AI, converting complex data into scalable enterprise systems.
Responsibilities:

Build real-time, tactical, and strategic network disruption management and recovery models to strengthen operational resiliency.

Maintain, enhance, and deploy production-grade analytics applications.

Design optimization, simulation, and ML models using Python, Java, or C++.

Assess data quality, perform feature engineering, and resolve data gaps.

Partner across departments to identify process improvement opportunities.

Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and present insights to senior leadership.
This is a 12-month contract based out of Midtown Atlanta featuring a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite per week) and 1 week of annual travel. Onsite amenities include a modern facility with a gym, cafeteria, coffee shop, and paid parking.
Qualifications:

3–5 years building and deploying OR-based decision-support systems.

Deep expertise in LP, MIP, and NLP using solvers like Gurobi or CPLEX.

Experience in ML, deep learning, discrete-event simulation, SQL, and Python (plus Java or C++).

Proven track record in model deployment, network recovery, and adaptive decision-making tools.
Preferred:

Experience in heavy freight transit, route optimization, asset allocation, or large-scale network design.
