Vice President of Technology

Partner with CTOs and engineering teams to elevate execution, maturity, and business impact across high-growth SaaS companies. This is a hands-on, player-coach role inside a fast-paced investment firm.

What You’ll Do

CTO Enablement & Execution
• Serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio CTOs
• Translate strategy into actionable engineering and infrastructure plans
• Lead working sessions to remove bottlenecks and improve delivery rigor
• Step in during critical initiatives, escalations, or leadership gaps
• Guide engineering budgets, P&Ls, and ROI driven investment planning

Engineering & Delivery Excellence
• Advise on org design, hiring strategy, and scaling from 10 to 30 engineers to larger teams
• Strengthen culture, accountability, and leadership capability
• Improve SDLC, CI CD, release management, and test automation
• Benchmark and elevate KPIs, including DORA metrics, backlog health, and release cadence
• Conduct delivery health audits and implement remediation plans

Cloud, Security & Data
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, reliability, and scale
• Embed security and support SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR readiness
• Evaluate data platforms, governance, and AI enablement tied to measurable outcomes

M&A & Distributed Teams
• Lead post acquisition technology integration
• Align teams, tooling, and architecture across organizations
• Advise on offshore and distributed team models to improve productivity and quality

Location & Travel
Atlanta area. One day per week, remote. Up to 25% travel.

What You Bring
10+ years of engineering leadership in a growth stage or PE-backed SaaS companies
• Experience managing 40+ person teams and owning engineering and tech ops
• Background rising through the technical development/coding ranks into senior technology leadership, including strong cloud, Agile, CI/CD, and infrastructure expertise
• Budget ownership with a clear ROI mindset
• Proven ability to coach & mentor senior technical leaders
• Strong business acumen and executive communication skills
Technically current and comfortable in a high-performance culture
